so i have been feeling completely tired, run-down, and stressed out lately and had no idea why. i haven't been doing too awesome at school and wedding planning has made me cry on more than one occasion.
just today i realized that this is probably due to the fact that i have not gone to sleep before 11pm ever since ty moved here!! starting next week, that is going to change!
best buy opens this weekend so i'm going to be working crazy long hours, but ty promised to make me a nice breakfast on saturday morning before he leaves for the valley. that will be nice. he is so thoughtful =)
also- the wedding is one month from saturday (or wednesday depending on your definition of a month). if i don't have your address, please post it here or email it to shanda.dean@gmail.com
the only thing we still really need is a CAKE! any volunteers to home make it? we're having a whole dessert bar at the reception so i really don't care what kind of cake we have as long as it looks pretty.
OH speaking of wedding cakes- whenever ty comes to my apt he watches this lame SPEED channel which is basically just car renovations for rich people. but last night, he was channel surfing and stopped on the FOOD NETWORK and asked if i'd like to watch the wedding cake show with him! it was awesome. the competitors had 8 hours to create a wedding cake for this couple and some of them turned out soooo cooool. this just popped into my head so i thought i'd share.

I think you have my adress. Right? This is also the time to sucker Merilee because she bakes. If I did it, well, your cake would fall over. Great for food fights, but not so good for weddings!

I am not a good baker, sorry. If you can "sucker Merilee" that would be great, but if you can't, I have the name and number of the lady who did Megan's cake. It was beautiful and delicious. If you need help addressing envelopes let me know. Then you don't have to have our address, although I think you already have it. I'll just keep an announcement.
Sorry to take him away this weekend, but we are all so excited to see Ty on Sunday. You're right, he's the best.

i gave ty our address. My old roomates sister did our cake which was beautiful, she also did her sisters. We both just had fake cakes with one layer real to cut. I can find out if she is still doing it and how much it would cost if your interested. She is a pastry chef and VERY good!!!

Sorry if I caused any undo stress about wedding plans today. I really am concerned about timing for pictures though. I didn't plan well enough for mine and am now very sorry that I don't have the ones I wanted. Also after shooting several weddings, I have come across things that work and things that typically stress out the bride's mom alot.
Also, if you see any pictures in magazines that you would like to duplicate, rip them out.
i was under the impression that we'd be taking pictures either in the morning or on a different day, but ty really wants them on our actual wedding day. i talked to my mom and we are just going to reprint everything and have the ceremony earlier in the day so we'll have time before the reception to take pictures. we won't have a TON of time, but this is the best solution we could come up with.
Shanda you are awesome! I know it sounds like extra effort, but the magic and excitement on your faces can not be duplicated at a different time. Let me know what time you are setting it for.
Also I talked to my friend Heidi and she said she would only charge you guys $400. That is a steal, but let me know if it fits in the budget. If it does, then she will do the ceremony and reception, all the candids, and I will shoot yours and Ty's formals, and some family shots.
i just hope you're right elise. i don't want to end up with a roll of pictures of my stressed out face. the ceremony is going to be at 11:30 in the morning and we'll probably take the family pictures right after that and then have lunch with all 100 guests. that way, we'll have a little bit of time to relax before going out again and taking the formal pics and i can touch up my hair/makeup.
what does the $400 include? printing? permission to reprint? let me know and i'll talk to my mom about it.
Ok, I talked to Heidi. Her offer is very generous. She is including, of course, the coverage of the ceremony/reception + she will come w/ us to do the formals and do fun ones there. She will give you a proof book w/ your photos and a cd so you can print. You can either let me know what you want printed and I will do what I can at Ritz, or if you want any blown up really big, or thank you cards made, she will give you them at cost for her professional lab she sends away to.
This is a deal she is doing just for you guys and will not offer to other. One, because she is trying to build her business and two, because she is a friend of mine.
Also, don't worry about the time. I think w/ your new schedule you will be so much less stressed than your original plan. Take a deep breath and make Ty rub your shoulders.

you will so not be stressed. That is what everyone else around you is for. Here is my little tip... stay out of everything and let other people handle it on your wedding day. You won't even know there were any problems until afterwards. Plus there is no point in freaking out on your wedding day because there is no time left to fix everything anyway. It will be beautiful and much easier for Ty to smile for pictures on your actual wedding day.
